Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. She is an American stage and film actor. Her most famous role is was that of Teri, the passionate attorney Teri Jospehson on the Showtime television series Soul Food. Her name is currently her maiden name of Nikki Kodjoe. Growing up within Baltimore, Maryland, she was always interested in acting. When she participated in the Maryland high school contest in her early years of education she received the award for the best actress. In addition to her work as a theater actress, she also worked with 'The Washington Ballet Company.' She received a degree in Acting from New York University. Her first major role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned an immense amount of appreciation. The film was followed by films such as "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak." Blue Streak". Her praise was for her role in Soul Food. Contractor was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria during seven years had a wide range of cultural experiences and travels at the age of. She received a full-scholarship grant to attend the University of Toronto after graduating. There she earned her master's degree in theatre and also double-majored in social and psychology. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year of auditions, she was offered the lead part. Her work was highly acclaimed in the 92 plays she appeared in. She was awarded the award in 2002 for the best production of the Year from Canadian critics. Contractor accepted the invitation to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. There are only eight males and four females accepted to a course of 20 weeks of classical theater. Contractor got a confirmed place for the next season and was given the role of Hermia.
